It could be a tough season for Wilshere…
Wilshere in action for Bournemouth
Jack Wilshere starts for Bournemouth
Jack Wilshere is making his first start for Bournemouth today, and he couldn’t have been asked for a tougher baptism of fire, with the Cherries travelling to league leaders Manchester City.
Wilshere was left on the bench for the start of Bournemouth’s game last weekend, but he came off the bench in the second half, producing a rather subdued performance as the edged past West Brom.
Now fully settled at his loan club, Wilshere was given a starting role for the trip to City today, but it hasn’t gone too well for the Arsenal academy graduate.
Arsenal man struggles for the Cherries
The Arsenal loanee is badly struggling in the Bournemouth midfield, which is being completely overrun by Manchester City’s swift passing and movement.
Wilshere was at fault for Man City’s first goal, scored by Kevin De Bruyne, and other than that, he’s badly struggled with the pace of the game, barely managing to get on the ball.
In defence of Wilshere, it must be something of a culture shock to him; used to playing for a dominant team like Arsenal, he now has to adapt his game and get used to chasing around after the ball more often, and working on his counter attacking game.

With Jack Wilshere in their midfield Bournemouth were always going to get spanked today. As useful as a fart in a spacesuit #MUFC

Wilshere too keen to make up for a mistake = free kick = goal. De Bruyne is damn good though #afcb
