Aston Villa star Jack Grealish has seen his move to Tottenham fall through after the Championship clubs new owners intervened.
The club has recently been taken over by businessmen Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens and that has seen things change rapidly over the past month.
There were some suggestions that Steve Bruce could leave the club and Thierry Henry could come in to replace him.
However, fans much rathered Bruce stayed in charge and that was what eventually happened after he had a meeting with the owners.
Now, they are attempting to block any move for starlet Jack Grealish despite the player having already looked to set to move.
That is because according to Sky Sports, the player was promised a move this summer and Spurs looked almost certain to get him.
That was before the new owners pulled the plug on the move and now the player is said to be ‘very disappointed and disillusioned’.
It’s certainly not ideal to keep a player who is so unhappy and is so desperate to leave the club but Aston Villa’s owners could put a spanner in his plans.
While the move has broken down, for now, there are still just under 24 hours until the transfer window closes for Premier League clubs.
In Kaveh Solhekol’s tweet, he claims that the player is yet to give up hope on a potential move to Tottenham.
If that is the case, both clubs and the player will need to move quickly to get a deal done before tomorrow’s 5pm deadline.
Jack Grealish is very disappointed and disillusioned that Aston Villa are refusing to sell him to Spurs. Source close to the player has told us he was promised he could leave before Villa’s new owners arrived at the club last month. Grealish has not given up on moving to Spurs
