Jack Grealish returns to training providing a boost to Aston Villa and England

Jack’s back

Jack Grealish is back in training, according to the Mirror, providing a timely boost to both Aston Villa manager Dean Smith and England manager Gareth Southgate.

Grealish has missed the last five games for Villa and his team have struggled without him, winning only once, 1-0 away to Leeds.

He had been in sensational form for Villa this season and Smith will be hoping he will be available for Sunday’s clash with Spurs.

Villa are currently in 9th place on 41 points, four points behind Spurs in 8th but they do have a game in hand. A victory at home on the weekend will leave the club in the mix for European football next season.

Gareth Southgate is set to name his England squad for the upcoming World Cup 2022 qualifiers with San Marino, Albania and Poland and Grealish will very much hope to be selected.

He has made 5 appearances for his country and his form pre-injury for Villa in the Premier League made him a genuine contender to start for England in the summer at Euro 2020.

The competition for places will be fierce with the likes of Mason Mount, Jadon Sancho, Raheem Sterling, Bukayo Saka, James Maddison, Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford all competing for the attacking positions alongside Harry Kane.

Therefore the next three games represent a real chance for Grealish to show Southgate he is the man to unlock the continents best defences in the summer.
