Jack Grealish on course to return for Aston Villa vs Newcastle – Mirror

Aston Villa vs Newcastle

Aston Villa’s first game back after the international break sees them play host to Newcastle United on Monday evening.

Villa are currently in the midst of a spell of poor form, as they prepare to host the North East outfit.

Dean Smith’s side have been handed defeats in their last three Premier League outings, and, as a result, they are teetering above the relegation zone.

Should Villa lose to Newcastle, 18th placed Watford could overtake them. But Aston Villa could also potentially move up to 14th with a win over Steve Bruce’s side.

As for Newcastle, they are up to 13th in the league, and finally finding their feet under Bruce.

The Magpies have lost just one of their last five PL outings, emerging victorious from the last two.

So, they will likely prove a tough test for newly-promoted Aston Villa.

Jack Grealish to return?

Part of the reason for Villa’s mini dip in form may have something to do with Jack Grealish’s absence.

The 24-year-old has turned himself into one of the standout stars for Villa in recent years, and is now the club captain.

Grealish had also hit the ground running in the 2019/20 campaign, scoring two and assisting three in Villa’s opening 10 league ties.

However, the midfielder has since missed Aston Villa’s last two PL fixtures, both of which they lost.

But the Mirror has some good news for Villa fans, as they claim that Grealish should return vs Newcastle on Monday:

Jack Grealish is on course to return for Aston Villa in Monday’s crunch Premier League home clash with Newcastle when former boss Steve Bruce returns.
