Inter Milan line up shock move for Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil

Ozil ‘injured’ vs Tottenham

Arsenal have just taken on Tottenham in the first North London derby of the 2018/19 season and come away 4-2 winners.

It was also Unai Emery’s first North London derby as Arsenal boss.

Arsenal headed into the game on a 17 game unbeaten run across all competitions.

The Gunners did, however, start the day in 5th place in the Premier League, one place below Spurs who had won four of their last five league games.

Heading into the game one Arsenal player was the centre of attention yet again.

That man was Mesut Ozil. Ozil did not make the matchday squad for Tottenham with Arsenal stating it was due to a back spasm.

However, there are rumours circulating that Ozil simply refused to train because he was not going to be starting vs Spurs.

This is not the first time Ozil has been absent from a big game under Emery.

Ozil also did not start in Arsenal’s away win over Bournemouth last weekend with the German’s work rate being called into question.

Inter to offer Ozil escape route

As a result, Ozil’s future at Arsenal is now being called into question.

The German did just sign a bumper new deal in January of 2018. But with Unai Emery now in charge Ozil may be forced to move on in the summer.

One team reportedly keen on Ozil is Serie A outfit, Inter Milan.

Inter were said to be interested in Ozil before he signed his latest deal in January and now he is becoming out of favour with Emery, the Italian side appear to have reignited their interest in him.
