Gerard Deulofeu is out for ‘some time’
Watford fans have a new hero at Vicarage Road. The Hornets signed Gerard Deulofeu on loan from Barcelona for the rest of the season during the January transfer window and the Spanish winger made an instant impact.
In his first home league start, Deulofeu scored and assisted in Watford’s famous 4-1 win against Chelsea.
The 23 year old has had a successful stint in the Premier League once before, with Everton. Deulofeu scored 8 goals and assisted a further 19 for The Toffees.
The Spaniard failed to fill Neymar’s boots at the Camp Nou and Barca were willing to let Deulofeu go on loan for the remainder of the season.
The former AC Milan playmaker sustained an injury during Watford’s match against another one of Deulofeu’s former clubs, Everton, on Monday evening.
Deulofeu limped off the field after a collision with Everton’s new forward, Cenk Tosun.
The Spaniard explained on Twitter that his injury will keep him out for a while.
Unfortunately I will be out from the pitch for some time but I will work very hard everyday in order to be back and ready to play. Thank you for all the support.
Desafortunadamente estaré fuera un tiempo pero trabajaré muy duro para volver pronto a jugar. Gracias por el apoyo. 🙏 pic.twitter.com/G7Em9tfjev

It is unclear just how long Deulofeu will be out for but he will most certainly miss Watford’s clash against West Brom this weekend.
Watford have picked up form in recent weeks, largely down to Deulofeu’s speed and flair, but The Hornets should be able to cope without the Spaniard when they face the Baggies.
West Brom are rooted to the bottom of the table and watford should be able to beat Alan Pardew’s team with no trouble at all.
