Liverpool & Adam Lallana
Jurgen Klopp has been missing one of his key Liverpool players at the start of the campaign: Adam Lallana.
The Englishman suffered a thigh injury during a match with Atletico Madrid in the final of the Audi Cup pre-season tournament.
Lallana was originally expected to be sidelined for just a couple of weeks. That turned into a couple of months, while, writing on October 10th, there’s still no specific comeback date for the midfielder’s return.
Back in August Lallana took to social media to express how he’s “gutted” with his latest injury.
Lallana leaves Liverpool
On Tuesday, the Times have an update on Lallana’s injury progress.
In a move which suggests the England international is still struggling to get fit, Lallana has left Liverpool to head to Qatar for more treatment. The broadsheet reports:
Adam Lallana has been sent to a specialist rehabilitation centre in Qatar as he continues his recovery from a thigh injury.
Liverpool have decided to arrange a change of scenery for the 29-year-old in the Middle East where he will continue his fitness schedule at the Aspetar clinic under the supervision of one of the club’s medical staff.
Lallana appeared to prepare for his trip to the Middle East over the weekend by going back to his home on the south coast.
Liverpool v Man United
Next weekend the Premier League restarts with an enormous match.
Liverpool take on Man United in the first game in the eighth round of the campaign.
Man United will arrive to Anfield joint top of the division, behind Man City on goal difference.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are down in the seventh place as another title seems to be slipping from their grasp.
