Stoke 1 – Arsenal 0
It’s one win and now one defeat for Arsenal after two games of the new Premier League season.
Stoke, meanwhile, are have the same record after they followed up losing at Everton last weekend with a 1-0 win over the Gunners.
Saturday’s match at the Bet365 Stadium was settled by a great Stoke goal at the start of the season half.
A sweeping attacking released new signing Jese Rodriguez, and the former Real Madrid forward beat Petr Cech with a clinical left-footed strike in the box.
Alexandre Lacazette could have levelled, but the officials chalked off a goal in a dubious offside decision.
Photo of the season
Stoke signed Jese Rodriguez on a season-long loan from PSG last week.
The 24-year-old is now an instant Potters hero after his goal against the Gunners.
After Jese found the net, an early contender for photo of the season was taken.
In the image, aside from seeing the Stoke players and fans celebrating, two supporters were wrestling on the stairs in wild celebration.
It was an amazing snap.

Mark Hughes will be hoping the result against Arsenal kickstarts Stoke’s season.
Next up for the Potters is a match against Rochdale in the League Cup.
Next weekend Stoke travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom.
As for Arsenal, the ‘Wenger Out’ brigade may be starting to clear their throat as next up is a tricky trip away to Liverpool.
