Everyone loves Jari Litmanen
Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat have produced a terrific graphic saluting the long lasting impact Jari Litmanen had in Holland.
Now 45, Jari Litmanen has been out of the game for five years having retired at HJK back in 2011.
Undoubtedly the greatest Finnish footballer of all-time, Litmanen played for the likes of Ajax, Barcelona and Liverpool in his esteemed career.
At Ajax, Litmanen won an incredible five league titles, and three Dutch Cups.
At Liverpool he added the FA Cup, League Cup, European Super Cup and the Uefa Cup to his collection.
Litmanen’s impact on kid’s names
It’s over 20 years since Jari Litmanen first arrived in Ajax in 1992, and Helsingin Sanomat have released a graphic showing how the Finn had a major impact of kid’s names during his time in Holland.
To prove the point, they’ve put together a team of eleven players currently plying their trade in Holland and neighbouring countries, who all have Jari as their first name.
Of course, none of these players are Finnish.
