Impressive Jamie Vardy stat emerges after Tottenham 3-Leicester 1

Tottenham3-Leicester 1

Leicester travelled to Tottenham on Sunday as they went in search of their first win in five league games.

Unfortunately, that win did not come as Claude Puel’s side suffered a 3-1 defeat.

Davidson Sanchez would open the scoring on Sunday in the 33rd minute with his first ever goal for Tottenham.

Christian Eriksen made it 2-0 in the 63rd minute before Jamie Vardy pulled one back in the 76th minute.

However, Heung-Min Son would ensure Spurs came away with all three points as he made it 3-1 in the 91st minute.

As a result, the Foxes are now 12th in the Premier League, six points behind 7th place Wolves who play on Monday.

Jamie Vardy is a big game player

While Leicester did once again lose on Sunday, their star striker Jamie Vardy got on the score sheet.

Vardy did not start vs Spurs but would come off the bench in the second half and miss a penalty with his first touch.

But the experienced striker would eventually get his goal vs Tottenham.

Jamie Vardy’s goal on Sunday was his 29th in 52 league games against the ‘big six’ clubs, more than any other player since the 2014-15 season.

Vardy has also now scored eight and assisted three in 23 league games this season. Two of those eight coming against big clubs (Tottenham and Chelsea).

Leicester’s next game is at home to Crystal Palace.
