More kits

Despite it now being more than halfway through the season, kits are still being made, designed and revealed, with Liverpool looking set to release their fourth get-up imminently.

The club have already played in three kits this season – their typical home red, a black away strip and a a light blue third edition. Now, though, there are plans to release a 4th, and altogether different kit.

With the level of design so varied throughout the Premier League, it is surprising that teams are still struggling to accommodate enough disparity between colours. Earlier this season, Bernd Leno, the Arsenal goalkeeper, had to wear the Gunners’ away kit when playing in goal against Wolves, despite having two different coloured kits himself.

Liverpool in white

Leaked images reveal that Liverpool will don a white coloured kit for the rest of the season, should they require a 4th selection. Elements of both grey and red are also sewn into different parts of the shirt, shorts and socks.

The thin grey lines going down the main bulk of the torso are similar to those of last season’s home shirt, which sported white vertical lines on the traditional red.

Where it deviates, however, are the dark and light grey panels on the shoulders and sleeves, along with the red trim surrounding the collar. With Liverpool having of coursed progressed through the Champions League’s group stages, a white kit could come in handy against some opposition.
