Only one will progress
ESPN pundit Alejandro Moreno has claimed only one of Chelsea and Roma will make it out of their Champions League group – and that the back to back clashes coming up for the clubs will be vital in order to determine who makes it.
He seems to think Atletico Madrid are going through, despite drawing with Roma and also losing to Chelsea – so it’s left between Antonio Conte’s men and Serie A side Roma for the other position.
The Express report he said: “The importance of this match, I can’t stress it enough.
“They play Chelsea vs Roma and the next round is going to be Roma against Chelsea.
“Let’s not forget that in this same group you have Atletico Madrid. We expect them to make it into the next round.
“One of these two teams are going to be out.
“So this group will be defined in the next couple of games.
“Chelsea, at home, barely and I mean barely (will win), somehow (Michy) Batshuayi is still starting for this team, maybe that’s enough.”
Antonio Conte is not one to keep quiet when his side are in trouble or when he disagrees with the board, and it seems he’s ready to put the knife in yet again.
He’s made it clear the club are in too many competitions to be playing the same players over and over again, and that’s why they’re picking up injuries and has called on the players to not just give the 100% they gave last season, but to give 150% to make sure they put together a title challenge this term.
