Huddersfield vs Leicester betting tips: Premier League match preview and predictions

Huddersfield vs Leicester prediction: Huddersfield 0-3 Leicester

Huddersfield’s long awaited fate was finally sealed last weekend.

Their Premier League adventure began with a 3-0 win at Selhurst Park 20 months ago but it came to an end with a 2-0 defeat at the same ground on Saturday.

As for Leicester, things are looking up for them and they’re targeting a European place.

Will the Foxes be too good for the Terriers?

Huddersfield Town vs Leicester City: Who will win?

Huddersfield have won just 3 games all season and are 19/5 to add to that here.

Leicester are odds on at 3/4 to leave West Yorkshire with a win.

A draw, which would be a surprise, is 13/5.

Over 2.5 goals is 10/11.

Both teams to score no is 5/6.

Leicester to win and over 2.5 goals is 7/4.

Leicester to win and both teams to score no is 15/8.

Jamie Vardy Leicester

Karlan Grant will be up front for the home side looking for his first Huddersfield goal. He’s 6/1 to score first and 12/5 to net anytime.

Jamie Vardy has 13 Premier League goals to his name this season. He’s 5/2 to score first and 10/11 to add to his tally.

His partner in crime has been James Maddison. He’s 6/1 to break the deadlock and 5/2 to score anytime.

Both Vardy and Maddison to score is 6/1.

Both Demarai Gray and Vardy to score is 15/2.

Both Harvey Barnes and Maddison to score is 16/1.

Both Karlan Grant and Aaron Mooy to score is 20/1.

Huddersfield Town vs Leicester City: Match preview

Huddersfield are officially down and out.

Last weekend’s defeat meant they suffered the joint earliest Premier League relegation; shared with Derby County in 2008.

The Terriers have won 1 and lost 9 under Jan Siewert who must galvanise his players ahead of next season in the Championship.

Will the fact that they’ve already gone down lift some pressure?

He’ll hope so.

However, their clear lack of quality means they’re unlikely to get a result here or in any other game for that matter.

Jamie Vardy

Leicester should take full advantage

The King Power Stadium is a completely different place now that Brendan Rodgers is in charge.

Their 2-0 win over Bournemouth last Saturday means it is now 3 wins on the bounce under their new manager.

That result has also lifted them up to ninth place, 3 points behind Wolves in the final potential European spot.

If Leicester are to have any chance of finishing as the best of the rest, they surely can’t afford to slip up here.

Surely the three points will be heading back down the M1 to the East Midlands.

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of XI Jan Siewert picks.

As his side is already down, it’s all about next season and giving players an opportunity.

Ben Hamer got a rare start last weekend but Jonas Lössl is expected to be recalled.

In defence, Mathias Jørgensen has hardly played at all under the new manager.

Terence Kongolo and Christopher Schindler has been his first choice centre-back pairing with Jon Gorenc Stanković just in front.

In midfield, Philip Billing could return after missing out with a knock.

Jason Puncheon could not play against his parent club but is unlikely to come back into the side.

Aaron Mooy and Alex Pritchard will be tasked with supporting Karlan Grant.

Attacking options Laurent Depoitre, Isaac Mbenza and Adama Diakhaby are all still sidelined.

Can this side pull of an upset?

It seems unlikely.

Leicester City team news vs Huddersfield Town

For Leicester, 10 of their 11 starters pick themselves.

Kasper Schmeichel will be in goal looking for his ninth clean sheet of the season.

The big decision for Rodgers to make is at centre back.

Captain Wes Morgan has scored in back to back games for the first time in his career.

However, he’s expected to drop out as Harry Maguire is back from suspension.

Wilfred Ndidi will anchor the midfield in this 4-1-4-1 formation.

Ahead of him, Youri Tielemans has been a revelation since joining on loan from Monaco in January.

They’re going to face a real fight to keep him in the summer.

No player in Europe’s top 5 leagues has created more chances than James Maddison’s 81.

Jamie Vardy is reaping the benefits.

He has 13 goals this season and will fancy his chances of adding to that here.

Surely Leicester will be far too good for their hosts.
