Huddersfield 0 – Newcastle 1
Newcastle United returned to winning ways on Saturday away at Huddersfield.
In a relegation six-pointer, a 55th goal from Salomon Rondon helped the Magpies pick up three Premier League points.
The win leaves Newcastles 14th in the table with 16 points from 17 games.
Are Huddersfield going down this season?
Huddersfield are third bottom of the division with only 10 points on the board.
In a scary stat for the Terriers, they’ve only scored 10 goals in the league all season.
Should Jamaal Lascelles have been sent off for his foul on Laurent Depoitre?
Last weekend Huddersfield fans were frustrated at Arsenal.
David Wagner’s side had two good penalty shouts against the Gunners which were both waved away.
Against Newcastle, many Huddersfield supporters felt the Magpies should have been reduced to 10 men in the first half.
In the 34th minute, Huddersfield forward Laurent Depoitre nicked the ball past Toon captain Jamaal Lascelles down the touchline.
Lascelles completely missed the ball, but the defender wiped out Depoitre.
Depoitre was lucky to avoid any serious injury after Lascelles took him out.
Not only did Lascelles commit a two-footed challenge, but the Newcastle defender’s legs were also high.
Yet Lascelles managed to escape with just a yellow card.
That booking also means Lascelles will face no further punishment.

How have the MOTD pundits not talked about that Lascelles tackle?

I feel it could be pointed out that Lascelles' 'tackle' on Depoitre was far worse than Mounie's challenge against Brighton 2 weeks ago #MOTD

Things I learnt from the game against Huddersfield
1. Kenedy is wasted on the wing
2. Lascelles is lucky to ever get a game
3. Schar is class
4. Dubravka too good for us
5. Manquillo looks better on the right
6. Rondon the hero again #NUFC
