How Pep Guardiola can make Manchester City history vs Chelsea

Chelsea vs Man City

This weekend’s marquee Premier League tie takes place in west London, as Chelsea play host to Manchester City in a 12:30 pm UK time kick-off on Saturday.

Two of the strongest sides in the division, Saturday’s clash could have huge ramifications for the title race come May.

Chelsea head into the weekend’s action sat top of the Premier League with 13 points from 15 in their opening five outings.

Man City, on the other hand, have not had the best of starts to the current campaign.

The Sky Blues would drop points vs Tottenham on the opening weekend, losing 1-0 to the Lilywhites.

And, this past weekend, Man City would be forced to settle for a 0-0 draw with Southampton, and start the weekend down in 5th as a result.

Les McDowall also has 220 wins as City manager, though he did it in 592 games, compared to Guardiola managing said feat in 302.

So, if the Spaniard picks up the win vs Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea later today, then he will officially become the manager with the most Manchester City wins.

When drawn on him breaking the record recently, Guardiola stated:

“I cannot deny it will be an honour. Hopefully we do it sooner rather than later.”
