Oscar’s Chelsea exit
It’s as good as done.
Over the past twenty-four hours it’s been confirmed that Oscar looks set to leave Chelsea.
On Tuesday afternoon, news broke that Oscar was very close to signing for Chinese side Shanghai SIPG.
As a fringe member of the current Chelsea squad, Blues supporters seemed to be happy that Oscar is heading off to China with a reported 52 million pounds coming into the coffers at Stamford Bridge.
On Tuesday evening, Oscar spoke to Globo in Brazil and confirmed that he will be leaving Chelsea for China.
Oscar off to Shanghai
Oscar said: “It’s 90% right. It just depends on some bureaucratic details.”
If Oscar does move to China for 52 million pounds, which now looks likely, it will be the 16th biggest transfer in football history.
Sao Paulo set for a tidy windfall
Oscar burst onto the scene at Brazilian club Sao Paulo, and ESPN Brasil have confirmed that the South American club are entitled to a part of the transfer fee in the China deal.
It’s reported Sao Paulo will pocket 1.35 million euros from the Chelsea-Shanghai transfer.
That represents 2.25% of the total transfer fee.
