How much each Champions League club will earn from the 2021-22 competition

Chelsea win Champions League title

The Champions League returns

After a busy summer, domestic football has once again resumed and the Champions League, the jewel in the crown of European football, is set to get underway once more this week.

Chelsea are the current competition title holders, having beaten Manchester City 1-0 in the Estadio de Dragao in May thanks to a Kai Havertz goal, and will be looking to retain their title for the upcoming campaign.

For their part, Manchester City will be looking to go one better this time as they search for the elusive European crown that would symbolise the dominance they have experienced in England over the last decade, while Liverpool will be hoping to go further than they did last season, where they were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Real Madrid.

Elsewhere, PSG are the bookies favourites, having added Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos and Gianluigi Donnarumma on free transfers over the summer, while Bayern Munich will be aiming to regain the title they won two years ago.

How much will my club make?

Now, as per Spanish outlet Diario AS, a breakdown of how much each club is set to make from the Champions League this time around has been provided.

Simply for playing the six games in the group stage, clubs will be awarded 15.64 million euros, irrespective of results. For each win they chalk up in this stage, they will be paid a further 2.8 million, with 930,000 euros awarded to each side for a draw.

Beyond this, clubs will make:

9.6 million euros for making the round of 16 stage

10.6 million euros for making the quarter-finals

12.5 million euros for being one of the four semi-finalists, and 15.5 million euros for reaching the final.

Whoever wins the entire competition will receive an additional 4.5 million euros more, taking a possible total (if every game is won) of 85.1 million euros.

In addition, clubs will earn a proportion of a further 600 million euros that will be distributed amongst the clubs according to their position in the UEFA coefficient, which will see Chelsea earn the most of the English clubs due to their fourth place.
