How Duncan Ferguson has already begun winning Everton fans over ahead of his first game in charge

Duncan Ferguson made an immediate impression while managing Everton

Legendary Everton man Duncan Ferguson has already begun winning over the fans after a turbulent time under Rafa Benitez.

Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez was never a popular figure on the blue side of Merseyside thanks to his previous employers, but a run of one win in 13 games means that he may well go down as the most unpopular figure in recent memory at Goodison Park.

Following a 2-1 defeat to then bottom of the league Norwich City, the powers that be finally decided that enough was enough and parted ways with the Spaniard, who leaves with Everton hovering just 5 points above the relegation zone.

And, while they search for a replacement, it was confirmed that Duncan Ferguson would take caretaker charge as he tries to turn around the toxic atmosphere.

Now, it seems as though the popular Scotsman has already begun winning Everton fans back over before a ball has been kicked with an altogether classy gesture.

Ferguson’s classy gesture

Ahead of his first game back in charge, Ferguson took to the local pubs around Goodison Park, and ensured there was money put behind the bar.

How much? Well, judging by the fans present, enough for every Everton fan to have their first drink on the Scotsman.

While it may be a slightly crude attempt at winning supporters back, it is very likely to work.
