Sullivan to bring family and close friends to West Ham games

In his latest move to annoy the West Ham faithful, Hammers co-chairman David Sullivan has found a way to bring his family to the club’s games, despite Covid-19 restrictions.

Amid the pandemic, fans are of course yet to be allowed back into stadiums, barring a brief period at the back end of 2020.

Sullivan, though, has now made it possible to bring several family members to both home and away games.

As per The Times, The Premier League’s Covid-19 protocols allow up to ten directors to attend games.

So, Sullivan this week appointed his son David, partner Emma Benton-Hughes, son-in-law Daniel Cunningham, and close friend Charles Cross to the West Ha, board – meaning they are all now permitted to attend games with him.

The Times add that they have been informed that the correct process has been followed. Regardless, though, with so many suffering and most fans having not stepped foot in a stadium since March, Sullivan again appears to be showcasing the fact that he is simply out of touch with the football world.

West Ham vs Burnley

The first match which Sullivan and his family will seemingly be attending will come on Saturday, when West Ham face Burnley.

The Hammers head into the tie sitting 10th in the Premier League, having lost just one of their last five.

As for Burnley, they sit 16th, remaining firmly in the relegation battle after falling to defeat at home to Manchester United on Tuesday.
