Footage of Celtic starlet Karamoko Dembele lighting up the Hoops’ clash with Hearts yesterday has been garnering widespread attention online.
Celtic 2-1 Hearts
Neil Lennon’s men welcomed the Edinburgh-outfit to Celtic Park yesterday afternoon, for their final league outing of the season.
The matchup marked the first of two meetings between the sides over the space of a week, with Celtic and Hearts also set to go head-to-head in the Scottish Cup final next weekend.
Ahead of kick-off in Glasgow, hosts Celtic had long wrapped-up their 8th-consecutive Scottish top-flight crown, having sat 8 points clear of Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.
Nevertheless, Neil Lennon’s men eventually emerged with a 2-1 victory, courtesy of a double from Michael Johnston.
Jake Mulraney, meanwhile, bagged Hearts’ consolation.
Of the talking points in the aftermath of Celtic’s 27th league win of the season, none have since been more widely-discussed than the showing of prodigious Bhoys’ starlet Karamoko Dembele.
16-year-old Scottish youth international Dembele has long been regarded as one of, if not the most highly-regarded young talent in his home country, with the explosive winger having previously grabbed the headlines in appearing for Celtic’s U20s at just 13 years of age back in 2016.
As such, when Dembele was introduced for his senior debut at half-time of yesterday’s clash, the home crowd at Celtic Park were understandably excited.
And the technically-gifted teen certainly didn’t disappoint over his 45-minute cameo.
Lining out down Celtic’s right wing, Dembele dazzled the masses with his combination of pace, trickery, eye for a pass and, more-so than anything, staggering confidence.
