Henderson captains Liverpool in Madrid
Jordan Henderson was the Liverpool captain for the 2019 Champions League final in Madrid.
The Reds took on fellow Premier League outfit Tottenham, and came away with a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Divock Origi and Mohamed Salah.
The win in Madrid marked Liverpool’s first CL triumph since 2005, and their first piece of silverware under Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool will now face Chelsea in the European Super Cup on August 14th.

Henderson drained by final
Less than a week after the all-English UCL final, several players from both sides were due to meet up with the England squad.
From Liverpool, Jordan Henderson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez all travelled.
As for Tottenham, Harry Kane, Danny Rose, Dele Alli and Eric Dier all made the trip.
None of the above-mentioned players started in England’s 3-1 loss to the Netherlands on Thursday, but Henderson, Kane and Alli all came on as subs.
After the game, Jordan Henderson revealed that he was physically and emotionally drained after the Champions League final:
“It was tough. It was a quick turnaround after the weekend – physically, mentally, emotionally I was drained after the game and it took a few days to get ready for this game.
“But also at the same time the lads have been training a good few weeks to build up to this game as well and they deserved to play. We have a great squad as well and you’ve got to use that.” As quoted by the Independent.
