“He is really s**t” – Raphael van der Vaart blasts Manchester United star in unprovoked attack

“He is really s**t” – Raphael van der Vaart blasts Manchester United star in unprovoked attack

Manchester United keep rare clean sheet

There was cause for celebration on the red half of Manchester this week, as Michael Carrick’s side kept a rare clean sheet in their 2-0 win over Villarreal.

They were indebted heavily to their goalkeeper, David De Gea, who pulled off a string of impressive saves in the first-half to keep the score at 0-0.

Then, inevitably, Cristiano Ronaldo struck. And, as Villarreal pushed for an equaliser, Jadon Sancho capped a beautiful Manchester United move with his first goal since joining in the summer.

However, not all were impressed, as the Red Devils went on to book their place in the last-16 of the competition with the victory.

Van der Vaart blasts Maguire

One man who has come under increasing criticism this season has been Manchester United captain Harry Maguire.

The Englishman recently scored twice on international duty, but has struggled for form at club level, and was sent off in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s final game, meaning he misses the fixture against Chelsea on Sunday.

Now, former Tottenham and Holland midfielder Raphael van der Vaart has stuck the boot in. The midfielder said:

“I talk about Harry Maguire so much, so I try to avoid him. But he is really s**t. I have said this so often. I can’t get away from the fact #mufc have paid €90m for him. That’s how much he cost!”

Captaining Manchester United and a regular in the England team, it is safe to say that van der Vaart’s criticism is harsh. But will Maguire be able to replicate his international form at club level this season?
