Eden Hazard before Man City
Chelsea head to Man City on Sunday in the Premier League.
Ahead of the game, Sky Sports sat down with Chelsea’s main man Eden Hazard.
Last time out Chelsea lost 2-1 at Man United in the league.
Antonio Conte took a lot of flak after he subbed Hazard out the game at 1-1. Minutes later Jesse Lingard headed United into the lead.
Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne has Hazard’s vote
With just week gameweeks left in the Premier League season, attention has switched to the end of year awards.
The top individual prize is the 2017-18 Premier League Player of the Year trophy.
When Hazard was asked about who he thinks should win the top prize, he plumped for Kevin De Bruyne:
I think there are three (best players in the Premier League) – Kevin De Bruyne, Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane.
I voted for Kevin De Bruyne. He is the best. I could have also voted for Salah because I played with him and he’s my friend but Salah is more a striker than a player.
Kevin has got everything. He defends, crosses the ball, assists and scores goals in big games. For me, he is the best this season.
De Bruyne has chipped in with seven goals and 14 assists as Man City steam towards the title.
Liverpool & Mohamed Salah
If KBD doesn’t win the prize, then Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is bound to be second favourite.
The Egyptian was again on target on Saturday in a 2-0 win over Newcastle United.
Salah’s opener lifted him on to 24 goals of the league season. He’s now the joint leading scorer with Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
Overall, Salah has 32 goals for Liverpool in all competitions. That’s one more that Luis Suarez’s highest goal tally during his Anfield days.
