It’s on the back of a great World Cup for Hazard, who saw his Belgium side finish third.

Remarkably, this is only the second time Hazard has won the Premier League POTM award.

Chelsea’s hopes for him

Chelsea want to keep Hazard and get him tied down to a new contract.

The player himself has said he won’t leave the club this winter, but has made no secret of his love for Real Madrid.

Hazard wants to be the best player in the world, and to do that he may well have to leave Chelsea.

In terms of individual awards, it seems players in La Liga have a better chance of winning them.

Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric have all enjoyed success in recent years.
