Harry Redknapp doesn’t believe Pochettino’s job is on the line vs West Ham

Tottenham struggling

Tottenham’s 2019/20 campaign has, so far, probably not been what Spurs fans were expecting, after making it to the 2019 Champions League final.

12 games into the Premier League season, and it already looks as though Spurs may struggle to crack the top-four.

Currently, the North London outfit are in a rather embarrassing 14th place in the English top-flight, after picking up just three league wins all term.

Spurs have also been eliminated from the League Cup by lower-league opposition, in the form of Colchester.

And Mauricio Pochettino’s men were also subjected to a fairly savage 7-2 drubbing at the hands of German giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Redknapp on Pochettino

Tottenham’s next clash is a huge tie against fellow strugglers West Ham United.

The Hammers are currently 16th in the league. And should Spurs fail to see off Manuel Pellegrini’s men, it could be detrimental to their Champions League hopes.

Tottenham are already 11 points adrift of 4th placed Manchester City, and could fall 14 points behind the top-four, should they lose to West Ham.

But former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp doesn’t believe that Mauricio Pochettino’s job will be on the line vs West Ham.

Redknapp also conceded, though, that Pochettino needs to win something with the squad at his disposal:

“West Ham will be a difficult game, but I can’t see his job being on the line.

“I’m a big fan of Pochettino – he’s a great manager and personality, he knows the game.

“But with that squad he’s got to win something, they have to get some silver on the sideboard somewhere.

“They won’t win the league and I don’t think they are good enough to win the Champions League [this season].

“They’re out the League Cup so will have to look to win the FA Cup, which is a possibility as they are good side.” As quoted by Sky Sports News.
