Leicester City manager Claude Puel has confirmed that Harry Maguire is a doubt to face Liverpool next Wednesday.
The defender suffered a leg injury during the Foxes’ thrilling 4-3 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Although the injury is not serious, Maguire will be assessed ahead of the trip to Anfield.
Puel unsure over Maguire’s fitness ahead of Liverpool clash
The French manager will be desperate to have Maguire back with his future potentially on the line next week.
The former Southampton boss is under intense pressure at the Midlands club especially after his side suffered a late defeat to Wolves.
Puel takes Leicester to the home of the league leaders Liverpool knowing a defeat to could cost him his job.
He could be arriving on Merseyside without one of his key defenders after the 25-year-old limped off at Molineux.
Maguire’s fitness is now in question and he will be monitored ahead of the Premier League clash.
Puel told the Leicester Mercury:
“It is his leg.
“I don’t think it is a serious injury but he could not continue in the game.
“Perhaps he could not have the good jump (for Bennett’s goal) perhaps because I think he received small injury before the second goal.”
