Tottenham place world record price tag on Harry Kane

Real Madrid have made a formal enquiry to Tottenham for a valuation on Harry Kane.

After guiding Tottenham to a point at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, Los Blancos have stepped up their attempts to sign the 24-year-old.

Real Madrid chiefs met with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy prior to the two sides’ Champions League showdown.

The meeting

It is understood that Madrid were quoted £178m for the Tottenham attacker.

Spurs are understood to value Kane at around the same fee PSG paid to sign Neymar from Barcelona.

Although, the North Londoners are also believed to be unwilling to listen to any offer, no matter the quotation for their academy product.

Onda Cero, a Spanish radio station, believe that to tempt Tottenham, the 11-time European champions will also offer Gareth Bale and Borja Mayoral.

One-club man

However, Harry Kane has dented Madrid’s hopes of signing him by claiming that he would love to go on to become a ‘one-club man’.

Kane admitted that it would depend upon the circumstances at Tottenham as to whether he could be tempted away, but ultimately he hopes to succeed at the new White Hart Lane.

The striker told the Mirror:

“I’d love to be a one-club man.

“It depends on how the club goes forward and managers et cetera, but I’ve said I want to stay here, as we’re in a great place at the moment.

The training centre is amazing, the new stadium is coming, the manager is fantastic and we’ve got a young team. So it’s great.”
