An update on the wellbeing of Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has been provided on Monday evening.
And the news has proven of an altogether alarming nature for all associated with the Reds.
Thiago, of course, was afforded a starting berth this past weekend, as Jurgen Klopp’s troops made the trip to Craven Cottage for the club’s Premier League season opener.
En route to a disappointing 2-2 stalemate, though, the former Bayern Munich man was forced to limp out of proceedings, after pulling up with a hamstring problem.
Concern, in turn, quickly spread across the Liverpool fanbase.
And, as alluded to above, such fears proved fully justified, with an insight into the extent of Thiago’s latest injury having this evening been provided.
The info comes courtesy of the reliable James Pearce of The Athletic, who has confirmed that the Spanish international is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
This comes after a medical scan on Monday unveiled the worst.

Thiago, in turn, looks set to sit out Premier League fixtures against all of Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Everton and Wolves.
