Hakim Ziyech has been on Ajax’s books since August of 2016.
Ajax would sign Ziyech from fellow Dutch side FC Twente, for a fee believed to be close to £10m.
And that transfer sum has since proven a real bargain, considering how well Ziyech has performed since joining the Dutch champions.
In 158 outings across all competitions for Ajax, Ziyech has scored 48 goals, and provided a very impressive 82 assists.
Ziyech was also a key feature for Ajax as they reached the Champions League semi-final last term, and his superb form has continued into this campaign.
In 28 games this season, the attacker has netted eight and provided 21 assists.
Three of those assists came in one Champions League tie vs Chelsea, when the Moroccan put on a scintillating display vs the Premier League outfit.
Ziyech to Arsenal?
Given how well Ziyech has performed in recent years, it is somewhat of a surprise that no Premier League club has signed the 26-year-old.
But with the transfer window now open, could Ziyech be on the move?
The tricky wide-man/attacking midfielder is currently contracted to Ajax until 2022.
However, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Ziyech can leave Ajax in January.
The Italian outlet also claim that there is a strong interest from Arsenal in Ziyech.
Arsenal could certainly do with some more quality in their attack, if they wish to earn a Champions League spot for next season.
However, the previously-linked report from Calciomercato claims that Ziyech is valued at €50m, and given the fact that the Gunners have been out of the CL for a few seasons now, and spent big money on Nicolas Pepe over the summer, perhaps that fee may prove a bit steep.
The Mirror would also pick up the report from Calciomercato, with the English outlet claiming that Arsenal and Tottenham are leading the race for Ziyech.
