Guardiola on City future
Pep Guardiola made the switch to Manchester City in 2016.
Since taking the reins at the Etihad, Guardiola has transformed the Citizens into one of the most feared sides in the English top-flight.
Pep has won a plethora of trophies during his time in Manchester, including the domestic treble last campaign.
City have also recorded the two highest points totals in Premier League history over the last two seasons, finishing with a remarkable 100 points in the 2017/18 PL season, and 98 points this past campaign.
But the 2019/20 season has not gotten off to the start that the Citizens were hoping for.
After being comprehensively beaten by Liverpool in their last league outing, Man City began the weekend nine points adrift of Jurgen Klopp’s side, who sit top of the table.
With City facing a mammoth task to retain their PL title, Guardiola has recently spoken about his future with the Sky Blues.
Guardiola seemed somewhat perplexed that people may think he is not happy, and went on to state that if the club wants him next season, he will be there 100 percent:
“Why should people think I’m not happy? Because we lost at Anfield or I’ve lost three games this season?.
“That’s an odd reason to say I’m not happy or satisfied – I want to stay.
“I know, all around the world, people are saying the Premier League is done.
“But if people think I am going to resign for these results, they don’t know me. I like this challenge. I love to be in this position. If the club wants me next season, I want to be here 100%.”
“I want to work and live in Manchester.” As quoted by BBC Sport.
Man City vs Chelsea
With Liverpool facing Crystal Palace at 3pm on Saturday, City could find themselves 12 points adrift of top spot by the time they kick-off vs Chelsea.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently 2-1 up vs Palace.
Man City will play host to Chelsea in Saturday’s late Premier League kick-off.
And Frank Lampard’s side are probably not the team that City want to be facing, as they look to make up some ground on Liverpool.
Chelsea are having an emphatic start to the campaign under Lampard, and began Saturday one point above City in 3rd place.
The Blues are also undefeated in their last six league ties.
