Guardiola confirms Sergio Aguero will miss the Manchester derby

Burnley vs Man City

Manchester City travel to Burnley on Tuesday in what is a must-win tie for the Sky Blues.

City were held to a 2-2 draw by Newcastle United this past Saturday.

And after Liverpool beat Brighton later that day, the Merseyside powerhouse opened up an 11-point gap between themselves and City.

As a result, Man City really can’t afford to drop any more points for the foreseeable future.

However, facing Burnley at Turf Moor should prove a tough test for most sides in the English top-flight.

The Clarets head into the midweek games 10th in the Premier League, just two points off 5th placed Tottenham.

Pep Guardiola would hold his pre-Burnley press conference on Monday afternoon, with the Spaniard acknowledging what a tough place Burnley is to visit.

Pep Guardiola on Aguero

As well as speaking about Burnley, Guardiola gave an update on Sergio Aguero in his latest presser.

The Argentine missed City’s draw with Newcastle due to an injury sustained in City’s 2-1 win over Chelsea.

And Aguero now looks set to miss City’s next two league ties, with Guardiola confirming that the forward will not be ready for the Manchester derby, which takes place on Saturday the 7th of December.

City will also be without Ilkay Gundogan vs Burnley due to suspension.
