Granit Xhaka reveals which competition Arsenal are prioritising

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka speaking about Arsenal’s involvement in the Premier League and Europa League.

The Gunners take a 2-0 to Naples on Thursday with a place in the Europa League semi-finals within touching distance.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are vying for a place in the top four with Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Xhaka: “For me, the Premier League is first”

The Swiss midfielder claims that Arsenal are prioritising finishing in the Premier League’s top four.

Xhaka has admitted that he is desperate to be playing Champions League football with the north London club next term.

Xhaka said:

“I think we want to stay in the top four – we want to be back in the Champions League.

“For me, the Premier League is first and after if you can go to the final and take the Europa League, of course, it is nice as well, but for us it is the Premier League first.

“We are now in fourth place – two points over [Manchester] United, one game less than Chelsea and one point behind Tottenham – and they play against Manchester City this weekend.

“This can be a big weekend for us.”

Europa League review: Arsenal 2-0 Napoli

Arsenal are on the cusp of reaching a second consecutive Europa League semi-final after beating Napoli 2-0.

Aaron Ramsey once again proved what a big blow losing him on a free will be for Arsenal as he netted in the win.

Also in the first-half, Kalidou Koulibaly turned the ball into his own net to double the Gunners’ lead.
