Xhaka’s time at Arsenal
Granit Xhaka joined Arsenal in July of 2016 from German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach for a fee of around £35m.
Xhaka has had a decent stint at Arsenal but has never really lived up to the expectations on him when he first made the switch to North London.
The 26-year-old has now made 126 appearances across all competitions.
In those 126 games, Xhaka has scored 11, many of them screamers and assisted 14 for the Gunners.

Xhaka has also won the FA Cup once while at Arsenal.
Xhaka’s future up for debate
When Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi signed for Arsenal this past summer, some people may have expected Xhaka to be pushed out of the first-team picture a bit.
However, despite having to compete with two top central midfielders, Xhaka has played 32 games across all competitions this season, scoring four and assisting three.
Although he is still seemingly a part of Unai Emery’s plans, Xhaka hinted that he may leave Arsenal in the future.
He is currently on international duty with Switzerland and when speaking to the media, he had this to say:
“I’m very ambitious, I want to take the next step, Arsenal does not have to be the last stop.”
