‘Good news’: Tuchel provides positive Reece James update ahead of Chelsea vs Tottenham
Chelsea and Tottenham are set to face off at 4:30 pm UK time on Sunday.
Before the game, Thomas Tuchel would hold his pre-match press conference on Friday.
During the presser, the German provided a team news update on his side.
Ben Chilwell, Reece James, Trevoh Chalobah and Andreas Christensen have all missed out for the Blues in recent weeks, with the former of that quartet expected to be out for the rest of the season.
And, when speaking on Friday, Tuchel stated that Reece James is back in individual training, whilst Chalobah is close to a return, but will still miss out on Sunday:
“Reece is back on the pitch which is good news but it is individual training but he is far from the squad. Trevoh Chalobah is back in training but it is too early for Sunday. So it is the same squad.”
Tuchel on injuries: “Reece is back on the pitch which is good news but it is individual training but he is far from the squad. Trevoh Chalobah is back in training but it is too early for Sunday. So it is the same squad.” #CFC

The Blues boss would also confirm that Andreas Christensen will sit out against Tottenham.
Chelsea continue to slip
Chelsea head into the Spurs game on a pretty woeful run of form.
Their title hopes have long gone up in smoke, sitting a full 12 points behind Manchester City, who also have a game in hand on the Londoners.
And now, despite spending the first half of the campaign in the title picture, Chelsea are also in danger of slipping out of the Premier League top-four.
Tuchel and co. sit 3rd with 44 points at present. However, Tottenham can overtake them if they win their four games in hand, whilst Arsenal will draw level on points with Chelsea if they too win their games in hand.
An altogether concerning situation for the west London outfit ahead of their trip to the Club World Cup, representing little more than a side-show which will simply fatigue the club’s stars even further.
