Good for Liverpool & Watford: Kevin De Bruyne & John Stones injury updates

Bournemouth 0 – Man City 1

Manchester City returned to the top of the Premier League on Saturday at Bournemouth.

The Sky Blues beat the Cherries 1-0 on the south coast.

Riyad Mahrez replaced Kevin De Bruyne just before the break at the Vitality Stadium.

The Algerian winger popped up with the only goal of the game in the second half.

Liverpool vs Everton

Liverpool can reclaim top spot on Sunday with a win at Everton.

A win for the Reds in the Merseyside derby would send them a point clear of Man City.

Liverpool beat Everton 1-0 at Anfield early this season.

Watford & Schalke

Man City now have a week off until their next fixture.

Next Saturday Pep Guardiola’s men are at home in the league to Watford.

Man City then take on Schalke in the Champions League on March 12.

Swansea will host the Sky Blues in the FA Cup before the international break.

Kevin De Bruyne & John Stones injury updates

Man City fans were worried at the interval at Bournemouth.

It’s been a difficult half a year for Kevin De Bruyne, who has repeatedly been sidelined with knee problems.

De Bruyne asked Guardiola to take him out the game on Saturday with a knock.

The good news it appears that KBD left the match as a precaution.

While the Belgian may miss the Watford game, he said his injury “it’s not so bad”.

However Guardiola indicated De Bruyne could be out for longer.

John Stones left the Bournemouth game minutes into the second half.

Stones was replaced by Vincent Kompany.

The centre-half is now another injury doubt for City.
