Good for Crystal Palace: Man United’s injuries pile up

Man United v Crystal Palace

Will it be seven defeats on the bounce for Crystal Palace this weekend at Man United?

Probably. There is little to be excited about at Selhurst Park at the moment as the Eagles have still failed to score a league goal.

To make matters worse for Roy Hodgson, Christian Benteke is now a long term absentee. Palace’s record signing is now set to be out for up to eight weeks after he picked up a hamstring injury in the 5-0 defeat at Man City.

But Palace will face a weakened Man United side this weekend at Old Trafford.

That’s after Jose Mourinho confirmed on Tuesday that Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini will both miss the game with injuries.

Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini

Jose Mourinho spoke ahead of Man United’s Champions League match against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday.

The Special One confirmed his has no new updates on Pogba amid speculation the French international needs surgery.

As for Fellaini, who was injured in the 1-0 win at Southampton last weekend, Mourinho confirmed he only expects the midfielder back after the international break.

Adding to United’s injury list, Michael Carrick is also unavailable for the CSKA game.

Marcos Rojo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are both long-term absentees with knee injuries.
