Man United vs Stoke
Jose Mourinho will return to Premier League action on Monday night.
Manchester United host managerless Stoke at Old Trafford in round 23 of the season.
Stoke have sacked Mark Hughes following their 2-1 FA Cup defeat away at Coventry.
The Potters are starring relegation in the face. They are third bottom of the league with just 20 points from 22 games.
Man United are second in the table. However the Red Devils are just a point above Chelsea and three points above Liverpool.
Good news for Antonio Valencia
Will Man United finish the season in second place behind Man City?
To do that the Red Devis will need to up their form.
2017 ended terribly for United. They lost matches to Bristol City and Man City, while Leicester, Burnley and Southampton all claimed draws against United.
At the same time Mourinho has missed several key players through injury.
However, as reported in the Times on Wednesday, star right-back Antonio Valencia is on the comeback trail. Readers are told:
Antonio Valencia has returned to full training with Manchester United in a boost for José Mourinho’s squad.
The right back has missed the past six games with a hamstring problem that caused him to come off in the second half of the 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion on December 17.
The expectation is that Valencia will make his return to first team action against Stoke.
Stoke sign Moritz Bauer
Sticking with right-backs, on Tuesday Stoke confirmed the signing of defender Moritz Bauer from Russian side Rubin Kazan.
Bauer, a lightning-quick 25-year-old right-back, first broke onto the professional scene in Switzerland with Grasshopper Club Zurich back in 2011.
He went on to spend 5 seasons in the Swiss Super League, before being snapped up by Rubin Kazan in the summer of 2016.
Bauer went from strength to strength during his time in the Russian top-flight, appearing 21 times in the league last season, before becoming an absolute mainstay for Kazan to this point in the current campaign.
