Higuain to finally arrive in the Premier League
AC Milan star Gonzalo Higuain is looking increasingly likely to join Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea after odds on a move plummeted.
It has been a pretty crazy seven months or so for Higuain.
The Argentine had been impressive for Juventus for a number of years before he was forced out of the club in the summer.
Cristiano Ronaldo arrived at the club and was always going to be the starting centre-forward.
Speaking about his exit, Higuain confirmed he didn’t want to leave the club but Juventus had made their decision.
“Then Cristiano arrived and the club wanted to make a leap in quality and they told me I couldn’t stay, and that they were trying to find a solution,” he explained.
He was also asked following his move to AC Milan why he chose them and not Chelsea.
The player revealed that while Sarri wanted him at the club, he got the feeling that only the manager wanted him there.
That lead to a move to Milan where ‘everyone wanted me, that was my reason for joining.’
A lot can change in a small amount of time
Now, it looks as though he is set to end up at Chelsea.
The club have been pursuing a deal for him with Milan supposedly struggling to keep up with FFP regulations.
Now, odds on the player moving to Stamford Bridge have plummeted.
Higuain is now priced at 1/5 to join Chelsea.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Higuain has been wanted by Chelsea for some time now and the latest odds suggest the Blues may finally get their man this month.”
It looks almost certain that the Argentine will be at Chelsea soon.
