Liverpool 3 – Bournemouth 0
Liverpool love playing Bournemouth.
Having spanked the Cherries 4-0 at the Vitality Stadium earlier this season, Liverpool cruised to a 3-0 win at Anfield on Saturday.
The win lifted Liverpool back into first place above Man City.
Man City face Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
Sadio Mane put Liverpool into the lead with a header in the first half.
Soon after the Reds were 2-up thanks to a sumptuous lob from Gini Wijnaldum.
Mo Salah scored the third early in the second half after a lovely piece of skill from Roberto Firmino.
Gini Wijnaldum had ‘diarrhoea and vomiting’
Many were wondering if Wijnaldum would be involved on Saturday after the midfielder was nowhere to be seen on Friday.
After the Bournemouth game, Jurgen Klopp revealed how Wijnaldum had been ill in the build up to the match:
He didn’t sleep in the team hotel last night. He had diarrhoea and vomiting two nights earlier so he couldn’t come to the team hotel.

Gini Wijnaldum’s brilliant goal vs Bournemouth
After Bournemouth lost possession, Andy Robertson chipped a ball towards Wijnaldum.
Wijnaldum, having ran forward with purpose, collected the ball with a sublime touch.
The Liverpool midfielder then let the ball settle, before he lifted a shot with the outside of his right boot into the far corner of the net.
Wijnaldum was subbed out the match in the 77th minute.
In a significant change for the Reds, he was replaced by the returning Trent Alexander-Arnold
