Van Dijk shines for Liverpool
Since making his big-money move to Liverpool from Southampton in January of 2018, Virgil van Dijk has been one of, if not the best centre-back in Europe.
The Dutchman has helped transform Liverpool’s slightly shaky backline into the best in the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp’s side let in just 22 goals in 38 league outings last campaign, the best in the PL, ahead of Manchester City on 23.
Vigil van Dijk was recognised for his superb season by winning the PFA Player of the Year award and Premier League Player of the Season award.

Wijnaldum praises VVD
Liverpool would also win their 6th Champions League trophy this past season, with VVD a key reason as to why.
The Dutchman then helped guide the Netherlands to the first ever Nations League final.
After helping Liverpool concede the least goals in the PL and win the Champions League, Georginio Wijnaldum has been speaking about van Dijk’s impact at Anfield.
Wijnaldum claims that van Dijk makes both the defenders next to him, and the players in front of him, play better:
“What has impressed me the most with Virgil is that he’s consistent, he barely makes a mistake.
“He developed really well at Celtic and Southampton and Liverpool, he developed a lot.
“What also impressed me is that other players play better when he plays; the defenders next to him defend better, the players in front of him play better because when you play and you know he’s behind you, you have a safe feeling.” As quoted by Sky Sports.
