Gary Neville wades into the Tottenham, Leicester & VAR debate to defend the technology

Tottenham, Leicester & VAR

Many people felt Tottenham were robbed on Saturday at Leicester.

In a crucial moment during the match, a Serge Aurier goal was chalked off for a hard-to-see offside call in the build-up.

VAR spotted that Son Heung-min was a hairbreadth ahead of the Leicester defence.

The Aurier goal was chalked off, while many on Twitter had a meltdown.

Gary Neville tries to silence the whiners

On Sunday, Gary Neville has taken to social media to wade into the VAR debate.

The Sky Sports pundit appeared to be slightly taken aback by much of the chat after the Tottenham goal was chalked off.

Instead of applauding VAR for bringing consistency, Neville noted many now want to remove that consistency from the game.

As Neville pointed out, “pundits, commentators, players and coaches have cried for one thing for years from officials. Consistency!!!!”

What Mauricio Pochettino said about the VAR call

The Tottenham manager had no problem with the decision. Pochettino said:

I trust in the referees and I’m not going to complain.

I am always talking about sometimes it [VAR] benefits you and sometimes against you. That is football.

After you can’t complain. You have to accept it.
