Bold statement from Sky Sports pundit
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has claimed that the Red Devils will win the Premier League again before Liverpool do.
Manchester United have been going through something of a dry spell in recent years.
With a merry-go-round of managerial changes, the Red Devils have struggled to compete for top honours like the Premier League and Champions League.
Their last league title came back in 2013, while their last Champions League trophy came back in 2008.
While United have been struggling, Liverpool have been slowly building momentum.
The Reds won their sixth Champions League trophy last season, and pushed Manchester City all the way in the league.
However, Gary Neville has made a bold statement, by claiming that Manchester United are actually closer to winning the Premier League than Liverpool are.
“They’ll probably win the league before Liverpool, in my opinion”
Speaking on Sky Sports’ the debate, Neville claimed that United are closer than people think to winning again.
“I can guarantee you as clear as day, Manchester United will win again,” he explained.
“They’ll probably win the league before Liverpool, in my opinion.
“And that’s not being disrespectful, they’ll probably win the league before Liverpool.”
“Manchester United will win the league before Liverpool… Salah will leave… I absolutely guarantee,”.

Neville suggested that the reasoning behind his opinion is that all clubs have gone through periods of poor recruitment.
However, Neville claims that United will stumble upon the right formula.
“What I’m saying is, Liverpool, City, Tottenham, all these clubs have had poor recruitment policies over the last 25 or 30 years at times.
“So United are going through one at the moment.
“Eventually they will stumble upon the right recruitment system, the right recruitment people, they’ll get a great manager – hopefully, that’s Ole – and they’ll start to win again. That’s going to happen.”
