North London battle
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has tipped Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham to finish above Unai Emery’s Arsenal this season.
There is much optimism among the Gunners fans following Unai Emery’s arrival and several decent moves in the transfer market.
They have signed players such as Lucas Torreira, Bernd Leno and Sokratis while Tottenham have not signed a single player.
While there is much optimism at Arsenal, it is the opposite for Spurs with a lack of signings and some potential outgoings meaning they could struggle next season.
However, there is one man who still thinks Tottenham will finish above Arsenal next season and credits their spirit and togetherness for that.
Who finishes higher?
That man is former Man United star Gary Neville who has explained to Sky Sports why he thinks Spurs will still finish above Arsenal next season.
“You look at Tottenham and they are moving to a new stadium and they are playing a lot of away games at the start,” he explained.
“They had nine players who played right to the end of the World Cup and only came back on Monday.
“The odds are stacked against them – but it doesn’t seem to panic Mauricio Pochettino. He seems to be relaxed about it.
“They haven’t done any business in the transfer window, but there doesn’t seem to be any furore over that.
“There is a lot stacked up against Tottenham this season when you look at it but the spirit, togetherness, continuity and stability is there.
“The manager looks after the players and has them playing his way, so I think Tottenham will finish above Arsenal, who are one of the intriguing parts of this season.”
