Chelsea & Man City
It was a good weekend for both Chelsea and Man City.
Chelsea looked like they’ve rediscovered top form after a 4-0 away win at Man City.
Antonio Conte seems to have found a new winning formation for the Blues, centred on Eden Hazard’s new central attacking role.
As for Man City, Pep Guardiola’s charges again looked brilliant in a 2-0 away win at Leicester.
Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne found the target as the Sky Blues remain top of the Premier League.
Man City, on 34 points after 12 games, and nine points clear of third-placed Chelsea in the title race.
City have also beaten Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge this season.
Gary Cahill’s message
Yet, Chelsea centre-half Gary Cahill still believes the Blues can win the title this season.
After the win against West Brom, the England international has issued a warning to Man City.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, Cahill fully believes Man City can be knocked off their perch:
[Manchester City] have started off full steam ahead and that’s great for them, but we’re not even at Christmas yet, so let’s just hold fire and see how they get on.
They look fantastic at the moment and we have taken a fair bit of criticism at times this season, but we’ve had three clean sheets on the bounce in the league now, it was a great performance and we’ve got a long way still to go.
Man City are back in action on Tuesday night when they take on Feyenoord in the Champions League.
City have already qualified for the knockout stage of the competition.
Chelsea are in Champions League action on Wednesday. The Blues head to Qarabag looking for a win to book their spot in the last 16.
