As per a report from the Evening Standard, Chelsea defender Gary Cahill could be set for a recall to the club’s squad, on the back of the injury picked up by Antonio Rudiger versus Liverpool.
Liverpool 2-0 Chelsea
Maurizio Sarri’s men travelled to Anfield yesterday evening, for a crunch Premier League clash.
The matchup marked a crucial one in the race for both the English top-flight title, and a spot in the top-4.
And, when the 90 minutes were said and done on Merseyside, it was hosts Liverpool who emerged victorious.
Following a back-and-forth opening 45 minutes, during which there was little to separate the sides, the Reds emerged for the second-half with renewed vigour, leading to Sadio Mane opening the game’s scoring with 51 minutes on the clock, after getting on the end of Jordan Henderson’s dinked cross to the back-post.
And Mohamed Salah rounded out the fixture’s scoring just 2 minutes later, courtesy of a stunning drive from 25 yards, which left Chelsea shot-stopper Kepa absolutely helpless.
Think it’s fair to say Jurgen Klopp is buzzing with that result.

And, on an evening where their hopes of securing Champions League football for next season took a major hit, Chelsea were also dealt a blow on the injury-front versus Liverpool.
The player to have picked up the problem was defender Antonio Rudiger.
German international Rudiger was forced off late in the first-half, after picking up what appeared to be a knee injury.

Scans are set to be held today to determine the severity of the Blues’ stopper’s problem, though Rudiger looks certain to miss Chelsea’s next outing, when the Londoners welcome Slavia Prague to Stamford Bridge on Thursday for the 2nd-leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie.
And the former Roma man’s absence looks set to open the door for a long-time outcast at the club.
As per the aforementioned report from the Evening Standard, Gary Cahill is set to be handed a call-up to Chelsea’s squad to face Slavia Prague.
The Blues’ captain has managed just 7 appearances this season, the last of which came in November.
