Gareth Bale has been backed by Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, who has called for the fans to have patience with the player, who has of course suffered injury issues once again during his Real Madrid career.
Bale has been booed by the Santiago Bernabeu faithful in recent games, and both the players and manager have spoken out to tell the fans to stop that and respect a player who has won so much with the club.
The Express report Zidane said: “Our stadium has whistled everyone and I cannot think of anyone who has not faced it, but that is part of a career and can actually have benefits in itself,”
“Sometimes it is good to realise when you are not playing well but of course these are not always helpful and can go too far.
“I am not just talking specifically about Bale but about players in general – I went through that experience and it encourages you to react and raise your level.”
“I think he is a complete player.
“With the pace he possesses he can inflict damage on any team when given space – as we saw the other day (against Real Sociedad).
“But he is also very strong technically and links well with other players in tight areas.
“I am happy for him, as there was a lot of talk recently about Gareth. He has shown the player he is.”
Bale has been linked heavily with the exit door, but it seems that he is staying with the club, at least for the season, given a sale in January is seriously unlikely.
