of all the current 20 Premier League sides.

Despite this, Arsenal would have an awful start to the 2021/22 season. The north Londoners began their campaign against a Brentford side who had never played Premier League football in their history.

Arsenal, though, still limped to a 2-0 defeat the hands of the Bees, before then losing to Chelsea by the same scoreline and then being smashed 5-0 by Manchester City.

However, the Gunners have since managed to go unbeaten in their following six PL ties.

Arsenal picked up wins over Norwich, Burnley and Tottenham before drawing against Brighton and Crystal Palace.

Then, in their last outing, Mikel Arteta and co. smashed Aston Villa 3-1.

How Arsenal can have a great season

But whilst they have been in better form of late, Arsenal are still only 10th in the league at the time of writing.

And with even more competition at the top end of the PL this term from the likes of West Ham, Brighton and Everton, Arsenal securing any form of European football for 2022/23 would likely depend on them having a great season.

Now, former Arsenal defender Gael Clichy has stated that the Gunners will need Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score a lot of goals for them to have a great season:

“Arsenal will need Aubameyang scoring a lot of goals to have a great season. It’s important that you keep your players in the right position and Aubameyang offers you so much when he’s down the middle rather than on the wings.”
