Gabriel Jesus & Benjamin Mendy: Man City team news vs Norwich

Gabriel Jesus back before Norwich City

Prior to the international break, Man City’s Gabriel Jesus suffered an injury.

Jesus missed matches against Bournemouth and Brighton in the Premier League.

That’s after the Brazilian attacker sustained a hamstring injury in training at the end of August.

At the time, Pep Guardiola said that Jesus should return to action after the international hiatus.

Happily for Man City fans, Jesus was pictured back in first-team training on Tuesday.

Will the striker play against Norwich?

Or will Sergio Aguero continue to lead the Sky Blues attack at Carrow Road?

Aguero, for the record, is the leading scorer in the Premier League this season with six goals.

Benjamin Mendy: ‘I’m ready’

French left-back Benjamin Mendy has declared himself fit for action against Norwich.

Mendy has yet to play for City this season, as he’s on the comeback trail from a knee operation.

Should Guardiola opt to play Mendy, he could replace Oleksandr Zinchenko in City’s backline.

But will Pep select Mendy against Norwich?

John Stones also back in Man City training

Just before the international break, Aymeric Laporte suffered a bad knee injury against Brighton.

Laporte is now a long-term injury absentee for City.

The French defender may only return to action in the final months of the season.

As a result of Laporte’s injury, John Stones is likely to be handed his shot at centre-half.

Stones has been injured recently, however the English defender has returned to first-team training before Norwich.
