Fulham vs Chelsea betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Fulham vs Chelsea prediction: Fulham 0-3 Chelsea

Chelsea looked to have put last weekend’s EFL Cup final defeat behind them after beating Spurs 2-0 in midweek.

Nothing less than a win will do if the Blues are to keep their top four hopes alive.

Fulham have lost their last four matches, scoring just one goal in that period.

Fulham vs Chelsea: Who will win?

The stats suggest that this one is a foregone conclusion. Fulham are yet to win a single match away from home in the Premier league this season. They have conceded the most goals and scored the fewest on the road.

Chelsea are 8/15 favourites to win on Sunday. Fulham are 11/2 to win the match while the draw is priced at 7/2.

Chelsea have conceded in each of their last five matches away from home – losing four of those without scoring. Despite that, the Blues will be hopeful of keeping a clean sheet on Sunday. Bet against both teams scoring at 19/20.

Expected to lead the line for Chelsea, Gonzalo Higuain is 7/2 to open the scoring and 20/21 to score anytime.

Fulham vs Chelsea Premier League match preview

Chelsea will make the short journey to Craven Cottage for their London derby against Fulham on Sunday.

Fulham suffered a fourth consecutive defeat on Wednesday night, losing 2-0 away at Southampton.

The result lead to the sacking of Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri, who had only been in charge of the Whites since November.

Ranieri, a former Chelsea manager, is being replaced by caretaker manager Scott Parker, a former Chelsea player. It is therefore quite fitting that Parker’s first game in charge is against the Blues.

Fulham languish in 19th on 17 points, 10 points from safety with 10 matches remaining.

Chelsea kept their top four hopes alive with a solid 2-0 home win over Tottenham on Wednesday.

Maurizio Sarri stamped his authority on the side by dropping Kepa Arrizabalaga from the starting eleven.

Man of the match Pedro Rodriguez opened the scoring for Chelsea before an inexplicable Kieran Trippier own goal sealed the victory.

Chelsea are sixth in the table on 53 points. They do, however, have a game in hand over Manchester United and Arsenal, as well as Spurs, who are now firmly in the top four battle.

Sunday’s match will be the 28th Premier League meeting between these two sides.

Surprisingly, Fulham have only ever beaten Chelsea once in the Premier League, while Chelsea have won on 16 occasions.

Chelsea won the reverse fixture 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in December. Pedro and Ruben Loftus-Cheek found the net for Sarri’s side.

Fulham’s record in London derbies so far this season reads played 9, lost 9.

Fulham team news vs Chelsea

Jean Michael Seri could return to the match-day squad after being dropped from the 18 for Claudio Ranieri’s final game in charge.

Seri will likely compete with Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa for a spot in midfield.

Caretaker boss Scott Parker could recall Ryan Sessegnon to the side.

Andre Schurrle is a minor doubt ahead of Sunday’s game. The German international has a viral infection but will be hoping to recover in time to face his former employers.

Schurrle scored a hat-trick the last time the Cottagers hosted Chelsea in the Premier League – although he was playing for Chelsea that day.

Marcus Bettinelli and Alfie Mawson remain sidelined with knee injuries.

Chelsea team news vs Fulham

First-choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is likely to start in goal. Kepa was dropped to the bench following his EFL Cup final controversy.

Kepa refused to be substituted at Wembley and, as punishment, was replaced in the starting eleven by Willy Caballero in midweek.

Time will tell whether Caballero’s clean sheet against Spurs will be enough for him to retain his place on Sunday.

Pedro could lose his spot in the side to Willian, which would be harsh on the Spaniard following his midweek display.

Davide Zappacosta is likely to miss out through illness.

Marcos Alonso could return to the starting line-up. Emerson Palmieri has been Sarri’s preferred left-back in recent weeks.

Gary Cahill is ruled out once again with a lower back injury while Danny Drinkwater is sidelined with an Achilles problem.
