Both Crystal Palace and Fulham have today been handed a boost in their pursuit of Swansea forward Jordan Ayew as he has been refusing to train with the Welsh club.
‘He’s just not been here’
Swansea boss Graham Potter told BBC Sport Wales,
“There’s no further news on Jordan – he’s just not been here,”
“That tells you that he’s not part of what we’re trying to do, by his own actions.
“It’s whether we can get a good enough deal for the club. Otherwise, that’s going to be an interesting time for him.”
Ayew joined current club Swansea City in January of 2017 from Aston Villa for a fee of around £5.31 million.
Since joining Swansea Ayew has played 58 games, in which he has scored 12 and assisted six but he now looks set to depart Swansea this summer after their relegation.
Fulham enjoyed a very impressive 2017/18 Championship campaign. They finished 3rd in the Championship and scored a superb 79 goals in 46 league games. Only league winners Wolves managed more.
As a result of finishing 3rd Fulham earned themselves a playoff spot. They would beat Derby County 2-1 over two legs of the semi-final and they would go on to beat Aston Villa 1-0 in the final.
Now that Fulham have returned to the top flight of English football for the first time in four years, they are looking to improve upon their squad in order to survive the upcoming season and signing Ayew would go some way to doing that.
He would join the likes of Jean Michael Seri, Andre Schurrle, Alfie Mawson, Fabricio, Maxime Le Marchand and Aleksandar Mitrovic who have already made the switch to Fulham this summer.
